This role demands both strong technical expertise and the ability to engage with business

stakeholders to ensure data solutions are accurate, scalable, and aligned with strategic

objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain dimensional, relational, and semantic data models that support analytical and operational use cases.
  • Ensure models are scalable, flexible, and optimized for performance across various workloads.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand processes, KPIs, and reporting needs, translating them into effective data models.
  • Work closely with Data Engineers, Architects, and Analysts to ensure seamless data flow and model implementation.
  • Conduct SQL performance tuning and query optimization for large-scale datasets.
  • Recommend and implement strategies to enhance data retrieval speed and efficiency.
  • Design and implement models on leading platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.
  • Leverage data modeling tools to build, visualize, and manage metadata-driven architectures.
  • Ensure models comply with data governance, security, and quality standards.
  • Maintain proper documentation, lineage, and metadata for all models.
  • Apply CPG domain knowledge to model data relevant to sales forecasting, trade promotion, supply chain visibility, marketing analytics, and financial reporting.
  • Build reusable and domain-specific data structures that reflect real-world business processes.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in SQL & Performance Tuning for analytical queries.
  • Proven experience with
    Cloud Data Platforms (Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Hands-on knowledge of
    Data Modeling Tools (Erwin, PowerDesigner, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of
    Dimensional Modeling concepts (Star/Snowflake schemas, slowly changing dimensions, fact/dimension tables).
  • Experience working with large datasets in a distributed/cloud environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge business and technical discussions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the CPG domain, especially across Sales, Trade, Marketing, Finance, or
  • Supply Chain data processes.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and modern data engineering frameworks.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies for data delivery.
