The Role:

We are seeking a Senior Production Support Engineer for Clear Street, India. Initially, the role will support the trading desk, execution, and stock loan business, with the potential to expand to other functions as the business grows. This opportunity allows an experienced senior support engineer to work with a founding support team in India while gaining a comprehensive understanding of all functions across the bank. Responsibilities include providing tech support to all business areas, such as the trading desk and production plant monitoring, and assisting with user queries. You will work closely with traders, customers, vendors and counterparties.  This role is critical to ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of our front-office trading systems. You will provide real-time, high-touch support to traders, manage incident resolution, and drive continuous improvements in application performance and operational processes. This role entails working from the Mumbai office for four days each week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide front-line production support for equities and electronic trading platforms, including OMS/EMS systems, FIX connectivity, and market data feeds.
• Monitor and manage trade flow from order inception to settlement, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of issues.
• Act as the primary point of contact for traders, and middle/back office teams during trading hours, delivering high-impact, low-latency support.
• Perform incident triage, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews to drive long-term stability.
• Coordinate with development teams on bug fixes, enhancements, and release deployments, ensuring minimal disruption to trading activity.
• Manage FIX onboarding, certification, and troubleshooting for external counterparties.
• Oversee change management and release coordination for front-office systems across EMEA and/or global regions.
• Develop and maintain support tools and scripts (Unix shell scripting, Python) to automate monitoring, reporting, and remediation tasks.
• Mentor junior support analysts, providing guidance on best practices for incident resolution and stakeholder communication.

• 8+ years of experience in front-office application support for trading systems (preferably equities/electronic trading).
• Strong understanding of FIX protocol, OMS/EMS platforms, and market connectivity concepts.
• Proficiency in scripting and SQL, and basic Python; experience with Jira and other incident management tools.
• Solid grasp of trade lifecycle, from order creation to settlement.
• Experience with incident management & debugging under high-pressure environments, with proven ability to prioritize and execute quickly.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with traders, developers, and external vendors.
• Exposure to change management processes and release coordination in production environments.
