As an Accounts Payable Specialist at Toast, you'll play a critical role in our procure-to-pay process by ensuring that vendor invoices are processed accurately and on time, while maintaining strong internal controls. We're looking for someone detail-oriented, organized, and proactive—someone who's as comfortable with spreadsheets and ERP systems as they are with building relationships across teams. The AP Specialist reports to the Accounts Payable Manager (India). This exciting role requires problem-solving and the ability to process invoices accurately. It will involve significant interaction with vendors and internal business partners.

• Invoice Management & Processing: Accurately review, code, and route vendor invoices through the company's AP software, ensuring compliance with established policies and maintaining strict adherence to SLAs for timely processing.
  
  
• PO Matching & Compliance: Execute two- and three-way matching protocols, validating invoices against purchase orders and receipts to guarantee accuracy, prevent discrepancies, and uphold internal controls.
  
  
• Inbox & Vendor Communication: Proactively monitor the AP inbox, triage inquiries, and resolve vendor issues while ensuring all invoices are promptly captured and processed within AP systems.
  
  
• Reconciliation & Statement Review: Regularly review vendor statements to identify and resolve missing or outstanding invoices, ensuring completeness and accuracy of AP records.
  
  
• Operational Support: Perform a wide range of AP-related tasks to support seamless day-to-day operations, maintaining efficiency and control throughout the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle.
  
  
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with procurement, treasury, and accounting teams across India and the U.S. to ensure smooth, end-to-end P2P operations and consistent stakeholder alignment.
  
  
• Month-End Close Support: Assist with AP accruals, account reconciliations, and reporting activities, contributing to accurate and timely monthly financial close processes.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in Accounts Payable in a multinational (e.g. US) environment.
• Strong knowledge of invoice processing, vendor management, and payment cycles.
• Familiarity with GST, TDS, and Indian regulations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, or similar) and Google/MS Excel. Exposure to procurement systems (e.g., Zip, Coupa, Ariba) and automated invoice processing tools.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with experience working across global teams.
• Shift Timing: Regular 2 pm-11 pm (Evening); 1 week per quarter and on monthly end, Night shift (5.30 pm to 2:30 am)

Hybrid work arrangement. 2 days a week in-office (2pm-11pm Evening, 530pm-230am Night)
