Moreover, it enables the purchase of bulk orders, which tend to cost less, expedites delivery by allowing for storage in multiple locations and reduces shipping costs because of shorter delivery times. Warehouse operations typically comprise these duties: Receiving: acquiring products in specified quantities at a warehouse facility Putting away: moving received products to optimal locations within a warehouse facility Storing: keeping products in their designated locations until shipping Picking: collecting stored products to fulfil customers' orders Packing: consolidating and preparing products in a customer's order Shipping: transporting a customer's order to a specified destination Warehouse assistants facilitate operations by taking part in virtually every one of the above tasks. When receiving, they ensure that the right goods, in the right quantities, have arrived. They then assist in moving the goods within the warehouse and storing them appropriately.
