We are seeking a skilled and experienced
WordPress Developer
with a strong background in
PHP
and at least
2 years of professional experience
. The ideal candidate will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including hands-on custom design, creating custom WordPress themes and plugins, as well as maintaining and optimising existing websites. You will be a key member of our team, collaborating with designers and other developers to translate design concepts into robust, secure, and high-performing websites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins using
    PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
    .
  • Work with our design team to implement
    custom design mockups
    into functional, responsive, and visually appealing websites.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex website issues, including debugging code and fixing performance problems.
  • Ensure websites are optimised for maximum speed, security, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end components.
  • Implement and manage WordPress security best practices to protect against vulnerabilities.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, best practices, and new technologies in WordPress and web development.

Requirements

  • 2+ years
    of professional, hands-on experience in WordPress development.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP
    and a solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
  • Expertise in front-end technologies:
    HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
    .
  • Proven experience in
    custom WordPress theme and plugin development
    .
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly
    Git
    .
  • In-depth knowledge of the WordPress core and its APIs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
  • Familiarity with server-side technologies and environments (e.g., cPanel, command-line tools).
  • Experience in an Agile development environment.
