MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Position Level: Mid-level Technician / Service Specialist

Salary Range: ₹22,000 - ₹32,000/month + monthly bonus (₹2,000-3,000 based on customer satisfaction)

Experience Required: 3-4 years in field service, HVAC maintenance, or equipment service

Reports To: Operations Manager / Senior Installation Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monthly Maintenance Visits:

  2. Execute scheduled monthly maintenance for all active customers

  3. Inspect HEPA filters and pre-filters for condition and replacement needs
  4. Replace filters according to standard maintenance protocol
  5. Inspect blower unit and check for vibrations or unusual sounds
  6. Verify ducting for blockages or damage
  7. Test control systems and thermostat functionality
  8. Record air quality readings (PM2.5 measurements)

  9. Clean and inspect all visible components

  10. Customer Interaction:

  11. Communicate professionally with customers during visits

  12. Explain maintenance findings and answer customer questions
  13. Educate customers on filter replacement benefits
  14. Collect feedback on system performance
  15. Document customer issues or concerns
  16. Provide recommendations for additional services (air quality monitoring, deep cleaning)

  17. Maintain neat and organized appearance during customer visits

  18. Documentation & Reporting:

  19. Complete maintenance checklist for each visit

  20. Take photos of filters and system components before/after
  21. Record maintenance details in CRM system
  22. Report any technical issues or equipment failures immediately
  23. Prepare maintenance reports for customer billing

  24. Maintain accurate time and mileage logs

  25. Parts & Inventory:

  26. Carry required spare parts and filters on each visit

  27. Monitor inventory levels and alert supervisor of shortages
  28. Transport and handle parts carefully

  29. Return unused parts to inventory storage

  30. Safety & Compliance:

  31. Follow all safety protocols during customer premises access

  32. Maintain professional behavior and confidentiality
  33. Respect customer property and privacy
  34. Adhere to infection control measures
  35. Report safety concerns to management

  • Complete 20-25 maintenance visits per month (ramp up to 30-40 by Month 6)
  • First-call resolution rate: 90%+
  • Customer satisfaction score: NPS 45+
  • Parts accuracy: Zero shortages or incorrect parts
  • Documentation: 100% completion rate on maintenance reports
  • Safety: Zero safety incidents
  • Day 1 Priorities: Meet customer service coordinator to understand scheduling system
  • Review maintenance SOP and checklist procedures
  • Inspect inventory and parts organization
  • Meet senior technician to understand system components
  • Plan route optimization for first customer visits
