The Resource Planner will manage the scheduling, tracking, and allocation of shipyard resources to meet the needs of concurrent running and upcoming projects, ensuring assets are available, utilized effectively, and contribute to achieving project milestones.

Responsibilities: ---

  • Oversee the allocation and scheduling of resources, including dry dock, fit-out berth, fabrication bays, blasting & painting cells, manpower, materials, and equipment, to ensure efficient operations.
  • Coordinate with Project Planners, maintenance team and various departments to align resources with multiple projects requirements and timelines.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on resource utilization, and potential bottlenecks.
  • Formulate long-term and short-term plans to optimize shipyard operations and resource utilization.
  • Prepare Macro Plan, clearly identifying workload in each Section of Production month wise and indicate efficiency norms and stage wise lead times assumed for preparation of the Macro Plan.
  • Monitor the usage of large assets and resources to ensure high utilization rates, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency or reassign resources as needed.
  • Conduct utilization analysis for dry docks, fit-out berths, and fabrication areas to determine under- or over-utilization, working to resolve bottlenecks and resource conflicts.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, production teams, and department heads to align resource plans with project milestones and requirements.
  • Communicate resource availability and constraints to project stakeholders, facilitating adjustments to schedules and plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of resource allocation and utilization, documenting asset schedules, shifts in allocation, and reasons for reassignments.
  • Generate regular reports on resource usage, allocation efficiency, and any potential shortages or constraints affecting project timelines.
