Job Summary

• Design & Specification
  • Develop and review instrumentation and control system designs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Select appropriate instruments, sensors, transmitters, and control systems for process applications.
  • Prepare datasheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
• Project Execution
  • Participate in project planning, cost estimation, and scheduling of instrumentation activities.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, process, etc.) during project execution.
  • Support construction and commissioning of instrumentation systems.
• Maintenance & Calibration
  • Develop and implement calibration procedures and schedules for field instruments.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair instrumentation and control systems.
  • Ensure all instruments meet required accuracy, safety, and compliance standards.
• Control Systems
  • Support configuration, testing, and optimization of PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems.
  • Maintain and update control logic, instrument loops, and interlocks as per process requirements.
• Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all instrumentation work complies with industry standards (ISA, IEC, API, etc.).
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with quality and safety procedures.
  • Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and risk assessments.
• Continuous Improvement
  • Recommend and implement improvements to instrumentation systems for better reliability and efficiency.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education:
  
  Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
• Experience:
  
  Typically 3–10 years of experience in instrumentation design, installation, or maintenance (depending on job level).
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of process instrumentation (flow, pressure, level, temperature, etc.)
  • Experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA systems, and fieldbus communication (HART, Modbus, Profibus)
  • Familiarity with P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control narratives
  • Understanding of hazardous area classifications and intrinsically safe systems
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail and safety awareness
