Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Executive Accountant located in Kolkata. The Executive Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The accountant will also handle budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Additional tasks include coordinating with other departments, managing accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

1.
Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Record daily financial transactions and maintain general ledgers.
• Prepare and process journal entries, invoices, and expense vouchers.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable with accuracy and timeliness.
• Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and client ledgers.

2.
Financial Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support in preparing Profit & Loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Generate MIS (Management Information System) reports for management review.

3.
Compliance & Audit Support

• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and other statutory regulations.
• Assist in preparing and filing tax returns.
• Coordinate with auditors for statutory, internal, or tax audits.

4.
Budgeting & Analysis

• Assist in preparing annual budgets and monitoring variances.
• Provide data and insights for financial planning and cost optimization.

5.
Internal Coordination

• Collaborate with other departments to verify expenses and financial data.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Master's degree (M.Com/MBA Finance) or CA/CMA Inter preferred but not mandatory.

Experience:

• 2–3 years of experience in accounting or finance-related roles.
• Experience with Tally Prime / Zoho Books / QuickBooks / ERP software preferred.
• Freshers with good accounting knowledge may be considered for junior roles.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
• Knowledge of GST, TDS, P Tax, PF, ESI, Payroll accounting, and statutory compliances.
• Excellent proficiency in MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Attention to detail and a strong analytical mindset.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Integrity, confidentiality, and a proactive work approach.

Work Environment:

• Office-based role (may require coordination with external vendors, auditors, or clients).
• Typical work hours: Monday to Saturday (as per company policy).
