We're seeking a skilled
Level 2 Linux Administrator
with hands-on expertise in
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9)
and working knowledge of
ITIL Change Management
. This role involves managing Linux-based infrastructure, resolving incidents, implementing changes, and ensuring system reliability in a dynamic enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily Linux system administration tasks on RHEL 7/8/9.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity.
  • Troubleshoot incidents and service requests per SLA.
  • Apply patches and updates in compliance with standards.
  • Follow ITIL Change Management for infrastructure changes.
  • Manage file systems, permissions, cron jobs, backups, and logs.
  • Collaborate with Level 1 and escalate to Level 3 when needed.
  • Maintain documentation of configurations and change history.
  • Support automation using Bash, Ansible, or Python (basic).
  • Work with ticketing tools like ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or Jira.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Linux administration experience in enterprise setups.
  • Strong knowledge of RHEL 7/8/9 and related tools (LVM, SELinux, firewalld, systemd).
  • Proficient in package management (yum, dnf).
  • Experience with Bash scripting and basic automation.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (Change, Incident, Problem Management).
  • Exposure to VMware, OCI, or Azure is a plus.
  • RHCSA preferred; RHCE is a strong advantage.
  • Basic network troubleshooting (ping, netstat, tcpdump).
  • Experience with iLO console (Intel/Dell servers).

Administration & Backup Management

  • User/group management, ACLs, crontab, file systems, root backups.
  • Server monitoring and proactive backup strategies.
  • Experience with backup tools (e.g., Legato, NetBackup, TSM, VERITAS, OmniBackup).

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.
  • Independent and collaborative work ethic.
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts or on-call support.
