Position Overview:
The Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing healthcare data to support decision-making, improve patient outcomes, and optimize operational efficiency. This role involves gathering, processing, and analyzing data from various sources to provide actionable insights that drive clinical and business strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Collection and Management:
Collect, organize, and maintain large datasets from various healthcare sources.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Develop and maintain databases and data systems.
Data Analysis:
Analyze clinical and operational data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Utilize statistical methods and data analysis tools to interpret data.
Generate reports and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.Performance Monitoring:
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to patient care, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiency.
Develop dashboards and reports to track performance metrics.
Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve performance.Research and Evaluation:
Support clinical research by providing data analysis and interpretation.
Evaluate the effectiveness of healthcare interventions and programs.
Conduct comparative effectiveness research and outcome studies.Support Decision-Making:
Collaborate with clinical, operational, and executive teams to support data-driven decision-making.
Provide data insights to inform strategic planning and resource allocation.
Assist in the development and evaluation of healthcare policies and procedures.Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement based on data analysis.
Implement data-driven solutions to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
Support quality improvement initiatives with data analysis and reporting.Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and data privacy standards.
Stay updated on changes in healthcare data regulations and best practices.
Implement data governance policies and procedures.Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with IT, clinical, and administrative teams to ensure data accessibility and usability.
Communicate complex data findings in a clear and actionable manner.
Provide training and support to staff on data-related tools and processes.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in the healthcare or medical industry.
Skills:
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, R, Python, SAS).
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Understanding of healthcare data standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment:
Office-based with occasional meetings and collaboration with clinical teams.
May require occasional travel to healthcare facilities for data collection and analysis.
