Job Title:

Onsite Design Engineer – Special Purpose Machines (SPMs)

Employment Type: Full-Time Baner, Pune.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Design Engineer – SPMs to join our team at VR Design Solutions. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Pune. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, detailing, and execution of Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) using Solid Edge as per specific customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute complete design activities for SPMs
  • Understand customer requirements and develop initial concept designs (2D & 3D)
  • Design and create working drawings for assemblies, sub-assemblies, and parts
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing and project teams to ensure technical feasibility and adherence to timelines
  • Ensure all designs meet manufacturing standards, technical accuracy, and customer expectations
  • Revise and update existing drawings as required
  • Maintain complete project documentation including DAP drawings, for approval
  • Ensure all projects are delivered within budget and scheduled timelines

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 to 6+ years of experience in SPM or Material Handling equipment design
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, and Solid Edge
  • Hands-on experience in 2D/3D modeling and concept development
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze technical specifications and customer needs
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Attributes:

  • Prior experience in design of automated or special purpose machinery
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical systems
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
