Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled CFD Analyst with strong expertise in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer to support advanced simulation activities across thermal management and fluid-flow–related programs. The candidate will be responsible for independently executing end-to-end CFD analysis, including problem definition, preprocessing, solving, and post-processing, for components and systems used in automotive and EV applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform CFD simulations involving conjugate heat transfer (CHT), internal/external flow, and electronics cooling using STAR-CCM+, ANSYS Fluent, and FloTHERM-XT.
  • Handle full analysis workflow: geometry preparation, meshing/preprocessing, boundary condition setup, material property selection, solver configuration, and results interpretation.
  • Analyze thermal behavior of EV powertrain components, including motors, inverters, batteries, and power electronics.
  • Model and evaluate cooling strategies for battery packs, electronic control units, and rotating machinery.
  • Conduct steady-state and transient simulations for heat transfer, fluid flow, and multiphysics interactions.
  • Validate simulation results with experimental data and provide insights for design optimization.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for design teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and assist in project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking.
  • Ensure best practices in simulation workflow, documentation, and quality control.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • M.Tech in Thermal/Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of industrial CFD experience.
  • Strong foundation in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
  • Proven experience solving CHT and thermal management problems in industrial applications.
  • Proficiency in STAR-CCM+, ANSYS Fluent, and FloTHERM-XT.
  • Hands-on experience with geometry cleanup, meshing, material modeling, and solver setup.
  • Strong skills in post-processing, result interpretation, and creating meaningful engineering insights.
  • Knowledge of EV thermal systems, including battery thermal management, power electronics cooling, and electric motor cooling.
  • Ability to work independently, manage tasks, and handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and project management capabilities.
  • Experience with multi-phase flow, porous media modeling, or rotating machinery simulations.
  • Familiarity with scripting/automation tools (Java, Python, macros) in CFD environments.
  • Exposure to optimization workflows or DOE-based studies.
  • Preferentially have work exposure from Auto OEM's or Tier 1 suppliers
