Overview The Operations Manager from Edible Oil industry plays a critical role in overseeing the production, quality control, and supply chain management of edible oil products. This individual is responsible for ensuring efficient operations, optimizing processes, and maintaining high quality standards to meet customer demands and regulatory requirements. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence within the facility.Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize production processes and maximize efficiency.
- Oversee the procurement of raw materials and supplies, ensuring adequate inventory levels and cost-effective sourcing.
- Manage the production schedule, prioritize orders, and ensure on-time delivery to meet customer demand.
- Lead and coach a team of production staff, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
- Monitor and improve quality control measures to ensure products meet regulatory and industry standards.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to drive innovation and product development initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction, implementing lean manufacturing principles.
- Coordinate with logistics and distribution teams to optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Manage and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as yield, throughput, and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the production facility.
- Resolve operational issues and challenges in a timely and effective manner, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to optimize operational spending and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to support product launches and promotions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and technological advancements to drive operational excellence.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in operations management within the edible oil or food processing industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in supply chain management, production planning, and inventory control.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of effectively managing and developing teams.
- In-depth understanding of quality control, food safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience implementing continuous improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma or Lean.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and production planning software.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
- Proven track record of driving operational efficiency, cost savings, and process optimization.
- Knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in edible oil production.
- Certifications in operations management or supply chain disciplines are a plus.
- Ability to travel as needed to oversee operations and supply chain activities.
- Strong business acumen and financial literacy for budgeting and cost control.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, sustainability, and ethical business practices.
