Sr. DevOps Engineer

The Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to take ownership of our infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and reliability practices. This is a senior role for someone who thrives on autonomy, can make architectural decisions without handholding, and has a track record of building and running cloud infrastructure at scale. You'll help shape the future of our platform by driving best practices, leading complex projects, and ensuring our systems are resilient, secure, and efficient.

Responsibilities

● Infrastructure Leadership: Design, provision, and maintain robust, scalable, and automated infrastructure across applications, APIs, and databases, with minimal oversight.

● CI/CD & Releases: Architect, own, and continually improve deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions and AWS native tools to deliver reliable, frequent releases.

● Security & Compliance: Define and enforce security standards across AWS and Kubernetes environments, including IAM, networking, and data protections.

● Observability: Establish and maintain advanced monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (CloudWatch and others) to ensure real-time visibility and rapid response.

● Container Orchestration: Lead Kubernetes (EKS) operations, including cluster lifecycle management, Helm-based deployments, and networking within AWS VPCs.

● On-Call Readiness: Serve as a key resource in the rotating on-call schedule, bringing senior judgment to incident response and long-term stability improvements.

● Continuous Improvement: Identify systemic inefficiencies and lead initiatives that improve scalability, resiliency, and developer productivity.

● Mentorship: Share knowledge, guide less experienced engineers, and set standards for DevOps practices across teams.

Qualifications

● Experience: 7+ years in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Infrastructure Engineering, with deep hands-on expertise in AWS and modern cloud architectures.

● AWS Mastery: Advanced knowledge of EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, and CloudWatch.

● Kubernetes (EKS): Proven expertise managing clusters, designing deployments, networking within AWS VPCs, and leveraging Helm at scale.

● Containerization: Extensive experience writing Dockerfiles, managing registries, and architecting containerized workloads.

● Infrastructure as Code: Expert-level Terraform (HCL, reusable modules, state management, workflows).

● CI/CD Pipelines: Strong background creating sophisticated GitHub Actions workflows, integrating securely with AWS, and optimizing for reliability.

● Software & Databases: Solid understanding of and React Native architectures, and strong knowledge of relational databases.

● Professional Skills: Ability to operate independently, make architectural calls, and drive outcomes with minimal direction. Strong communication skills and a proven track record of earning trust through technical excellence.

Nice to Have

● Jenkins: Experience with "Pipeline as Code," plugin management, and distributed builds.

● Streaming Video: Understanding of video delivery protocols (HLS, MPEG-DASH), transcoding workflows, CDN optimization, and streaming quality monitoring.
