Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Chassis Design Engineer with strong expertise in chassis technology, suspension kinematics, driving dynamics, and component design. The role involves working within a German OEM development environment, focusing on concept development, design maturity, interface definition, and technical robustness as per OEM standards and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and develop axle and suspension concepts
  • Define spring, damper, and stabilizer connection concepts
  • Apply longitudinal and lateral vehicle dynamics fundamentals
  • Apply spatial gear theory including Ackermann principles
  • Optimize wheel lift curves, arm lengths, arm angles, and hard points
  • Distinguish between rigid and elastic kinematics
  • Analyze bearing deformation and alignment concepts
  • Design and validate chassis components considering manufacturing methods, load cases, FEM basics, failure criteria, and clearance targets
  • Work on axle carrier, wheel carrier, stabilizer, steering system, and wheel/tire package
  • Advanced use of CATIA V5 (Part Design, Shape Design, DMU, Kinematics)
  • Manage interfaces, assembly sequences, and development maturity from concept to series

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong system-level understanding of chassis and suspension
  • Experience working in German OEM development processes
  • Structured, analytical, and quality-driven approach
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional vehicle projects
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with German OEM release processes and change management
  • Knowledge of German automotive standards and supplier coordination
