Role & responsibilities

Develop and prepare risk reports and presentations for senior management, regulators, and the Board related to the Investment Portfolio of NPS schemes.

Assess portfolio risks (e.g., factor risk correlation, stress testing, back-testing) using risk models and analytics tools. Communicating the same to Investment Team and Senior Management.

Perform risk analysis on portfolios and benchmarks, reporting on market, liquidity, and concentration risks using measures such as forecast tracking error, downside risk, and VaR (including back-testing and stress-testing).

Establish and monitor relevant compliance and governance policies related to the NPS and provide advice on related risks.

Develop and implement comprehensive operational risk management strategies, policies and procedures aligned with the company's objectives and review of risk management & risk appetite framework for effective risk management process.

Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities, potential impacts, and mitigation strategies across various operational processes.

Collaborate with business units to establish risk tolerance levels, monitor risk exposures limits and flag breaches of various regulatory and internal limits.

Conducting RCSA exercise and review & tracking Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).

Preparation of ICAAP document at annual intervals and other reports required by regulator and sponsor.

Assist in drafting or updating risk policies, procedures and guidelines.

Help to maintain and enhance risk management tools, software and dashboards.

Liaison with IT and data teams to ensure integrity of risk-related data.

Co-ordinate with compliance and audit teams to align risk and control frameworks. Assist in internal audits and regulatory examinations.

Perform any other duties as assigned by the CRO.

Preferred candidate profile

Graduate or Postgraduate with at least 5 years experience in Investment and Operational Risk Management, risk assessment, or a related field, preferably within the financial services industry.

Risk-related professional certification (FRM/CFA/PRM/CRM) is an added advantage.

Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.

Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and developing risk mitigation strategies.

Knowledge of Investment Asset Class viz. Fixed Income, Equities, Alternative Asset, Money Market etc. is desirable.

Understanding of concept of VaR, DV01, CS01, Beta, Credit ratings, Duration and YTM

Hands-on experience in Risk Management software like MSCI Barra one, Bloomberg or equivalent application.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.

Ability to utilize risk management software for tracking and reporting.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
