The IC4 Principal Software Engineer role is integral to the success and scalability of the OCEAN(Oracle Cloud Escalations and Notifications) service, a mission-critical platform supporting real-time incident management and operational alerting across cloud environments. This role emphasizes backend development and requires candidates capable of independently designing, implementing, and optimizing complex features within scalable, cloud-based systems. The position demands proficiency in building robust APIs and backend services, ensuring OCEAN remains a high-performing and reliable solution for internal and external users. Strong operational expertise is essential, including the ability to set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, implement monitoring tools for distributed systems (e.g., structured logging, metrics, and Grafana dashboards), and troubleshoot effectively to ensure operational excellence.

A deep understanding of distributed systems is critical for maintaining the scalability, fault tolerance, and high availability of OCEAN, as the service processes large volumes of data and integrates with other critical platforms.
