Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and user-focused UX Designer to join our digital consulting team in Delhi. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in user experience design, the ability to translate complex requirements into user-friendly interfaces, and a passion for designing accessible, inclusive digital products.

This role will primarily focus on enhancing the user experience for e-governance platforms and large-scale digital transformation projects under initiatives such as Digital India, in collaboration with government stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

User Research & Analysis

  • Conduct user interviews, surveys, and contextual research to gather insights.
  • Analyze user behavior, pain points, and workflows to inform design decisions.
  • Develop personas, journey maps, and other user research artifacts.

Interaction & Interface Design

  • Create wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
  • Translate research findings into intuitive UI designs and seamless user flows.
  • Design responsive layouts for web and mobile platforms.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with product managers, developers, business analysts, and government stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and agile ceremonies as needed.
  • Present design concepts and receive feedback constructively.

Usability Testing & Iteration

  • Plan and execute usability tests to validate design hypotheses.
  • Iterate designs based on user feedback and performance metrics.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement in UX practices and deliverables.

Accessibility & Standards

  • Ensure all designs are compliant with accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Design with inclusivity and Indias diverse user base in mind (e.g., regional language support, low digital literacy considerations).

Documentation

  • Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and interaction specifications.
  • Document design rationale and decisions for transparency and development handoff.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Master's degree or UX/UI certification is a plus.

Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in UX design, preferably in IT consulting, digital transformation, or e-governance projects.
  • Hands-on experience designing interfaces for web and mobile platforms.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end UX projects and case studies.

Design Tools

  • Proficient in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS is a bonus (not mandatory).

UX Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of user-centered design (UCD) methodologies.
  • Experience with usability testing and user feedback analysis.
  • Understanding of design systems, component libraries, and responsive UI design.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Prior experience with government digital projects or Digital India initiatives.
  • Understanding of government service delivery challenges and public sector design constraints.
