LNG Fuel Pump Operator cum Technician will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining LNG fueling equipment, ensuring safe handling of liquefied natural gas, and performing technical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to guarantee smooth fueling operations.

Key Job Roles & Responsibilities

Operational Duties

  • Operate LNG fuel pumps and compressors
     to transfer liquefied natural gas safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor gauges, flow meters, and pressure levels
     to ensure optimal fueling conditions.
  • Start, stop, and adjust equipment
     such as valves, pipelines, and control systems during fueling operations.
  • Conduct routine fueling operations
     for vehicles, storage tanks, or industrial applications, following strict safety protocols.

Technical & Maintenance Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance
     on LNG pumps, compressors, and related equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
     in fueling systems and resolve them promptly.
  • Inspect and calibrate instruments
     to maintain accuracy in LNG dispensing.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and readiness
     of fueling stations and equipment.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards
     (PESO, OISD, and other regulatory guidelines in India).
  • Handle LNG with care
     to prevent leaks, spills, or hazardous incidents.
  • Conduct emergency drills
     and respond to alarms or abnormal operating conditions.
  • Document safety checks, incidents, and maintenance activities
     for audit and compliance purposes.

Administrative & Reporting

  • Maintain fueling logs and operational records
     for accountability.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns
     to supervisors.
  • Assist in training junior staff
     on LNG fueling procedures and safety practices.

Ideal Skills & Competencies

  • Strong 
    technical knowledge of LNG systems
     and cryogenic handling.
  • Ability to 
    interpret technical manuals, SOPs, and safety guidelines
    .
  • Attention to detail
     in monitoring equipment and recording data.
  • Problem-solving skills
     for quick troubleshooting.
  • Team collaboration
     with engineers, safety officers, and drivers.

The LNG Fuel Pump Operator cum Technician plays a dual role:

  • Operator
     – running and monitoring LNG fueling systems.
  • Technician
     – maintaining, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance.
