Job Title: Plant Manager

Department: Operations / Manufacturing

Reports To: Technical Director/ Managing Director

Location: Taloja, Maharashtra.

Position Summary

The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring production runs safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, operational excellence, and a commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and safety. The Plant Manager will work closely with department heads to meet production goals, maintain compliance, and drive strategic initiatives to enhance productivity and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, inventory control, and quality assurance.
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications, quality standards, and delivery deadlines.
  • Implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for productivity, efficiency, and quality.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and mentor supervisors, engineers, and production staff to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Develop workforce capabilities through training, skill enhancement, and succession planning.
  • Promote collaboration between departments (maintenance, engineering, quality, logistics).

Safety, Compliance & Quality

  • Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety policies, procedures, and compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO, GMP, or other industry quality standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives to resolve operational issues.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste, increase productivity, and lower costs.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technology, and best practices.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Manage plant budget, control operational expenses, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and procurement to ensure raw material availability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance schedules to minimize downtime

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum 8–10 years' manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record in plant operations, process improvement, and cost control.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial acumen and ability to manage budgets effectively.Role & responsibilities
