1. Sample Handling & Preparation

  • Receive, register, and label biopsy/cytology specimens accurately.
  • Perform grossing assistance as per pathologist's instructions.
  • Prepare tissue samples for embedding, sectioning, and staining.
  • Ensure proper fixation, dehydration, clearing, and paraffin embedding of tissues.

2. Microscopy & Slide Preparation

  • Cut tissue sections using microtome at required thickness.
  • Perform routine stains (e.g., Hematoxylin & Eosin) and special stains as advised.
  • Ensure slides are of diagnostic quality before handing over to pathologist.

3. Laboratory Operations

  • Operate and maintain histopathology equipment (microtome, tissue processor, embedding station, staining machines, etc.).
  • Monitor reagent preparation, usage, and replacement schedules.
  • Follow proper disposal methods for biological and chemical waste.

4. Quality Control & Compliance

  • Adhere to NABL/ISO 15189 quality standards in histopathology processes.
  • Maintain accurate logs of specimen processing, staining, and equipment use.
  • Participate in internal/external quality assurance programs.
  • Follow biosafety and infection control protocols.

5. Record Keeping & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed records of specimen reception, processing, and slide preparation.
  • Ensure proper archiving of blocks and slides for future reference.
  • Assist pathologists with case preparation and documentation when required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹12, ₹18,000.00 per month

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • histopathology: 4 years (Preferred)
