Shift Supervisor

• Notice Period: Immediately to 30 days

Supervises the operation of the entire plant during his shift with the aim of producing product at required output levels and in accordance with specified quality and cost standards.

Responsible for emergencies, condition of plant and machinery, cleaning of plant and surrounding area, production data control, and any other job assigned by superiors/Management.

Accountable for maintaining and improving quality result and quality assurance system.

Accountable for the effectiveness of the Integrated Management System under their area of responsibility

· Reports to the Production Manager

· Responsible for Operators in their shift. Also oversees warehouse staff outside normal day work hours, i.e. when Warehouse Coordinator-SP is not present.

· Working relationships Maintenance, Process, Quality Assurance and any other person/department as circumstances dictates.

Exercises responsibility for safety of plant and personnel on shift. Evaluates safety aspects of work to be performed and ensures proper precautions have been taken before issuing work permits.

Ensures that plant controls and shutdown systems are operated in a safe manner. Routinely checks to ensure that all process safety features are properly activated.

Demonstrates a commitment in maintaining and improving the quality results and quality assurance systems.

Ensures that SOPs, WIs, quality systems and quality programs are in place and clearly communicated to all employees.

Reinforces quality systems and quality programs by personal example, define responsibility and clear accountability.

Ensures that the department is fully staffed and capable of delivering customer expectations in terms of quality products, execution and delivery.

Supervises plant operating activities on his shift. Includes monitoring overall plant operations. Giving directions to operators and checking that product quality and quantity are in accordance with management's requirements.
