We are looking for an experienced Senior Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Siemenss automation platforms to lead PLC & SCADA-based projects in pharma, chemical, and process industries. The candidate should have proven hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal, SIMATIC S7-300/400/1200/1500, WinCC (Classic/Unified), and PCS 7, along with knowledge of GAMP5, cGMP, and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. This role involves project execution, FAT/SAT, validation support, and mentoring of junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Siemens PLC programming using TIA Portal, Step 7, S7-300/400/1200/1500 controllers.
  • Develop and configure SCADA systems using WinCC Classic, WinCC Unified, and PCS 7.
  • Design and implement automation architectures including PLC–SCADA integration, redundancy, and communication protocols.
  • Configure process graphics, alarms, recipes, interlocks, and audit trails in line with pharma requirements.
  • Review URS, FDS, SDS, FAT/SAT protocols, and validation documentation.
  • Ensure automation solutions comply with GAMP5, cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and data integrity standards.
  • Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, IQ, OQ, and PQ activities at vendor and client sites.
  • Integrate Siemens PLC/SCADA systems with field devices, drives, Profibus/Profinet networks, OPC-UA, MES, and DCS systems.
  • Troubleshoot Siemens automation platforms and optimize control strategies for reliable operation.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers on Siemens's standards, templates, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (process, instrumentation, validation, IT/OT) to ensure project success.
  • Contribute to standardization of Siemens project libraries, function blocks, and engineering guidelines.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs (S7-300/400/1200/1500).
  • Expertise in Siemens SCADA platforms: WinCC Classic, WinCC Unified, and PCS 7.
  • Knowledge of automation communication protocols (Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, OPC-UA, Industrial Ethernet).
  • Familiar with pharma automation requirements – GAMP5, CSV, data integrity, audit trails.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and control system optimization skills.
  • Ability to lead teams, interact with clients, and manage Siemens-based automation projects.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in Automation, Instrumentation, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 6–8 years of experience in automation engineering, with at least 5 years in Siemens's platforms.
  • Pharma / chemical / process industry project experience with CSV and validation exposure is essential.
  • Experience in Process automation, BMS integration, and utility systems preferred.
