the Role & responsibilities -

  • Deep understanding of various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, SMAW).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Efficiency Improvement: Analyzing current methods to identify and eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and maximize the productivity of both machinery and workers. They often use principles of lean manufacturing to achieve this.
  • Troubleshooting: Quickly identifying and resolving technical issues that arise on the production line, such as weld defects, equipment malfunctions, or material problems.
  • Train Welders: Educate welders on proper techniques, new procedures, and safety protocols to ensure consistent and high-quality work.
  • Provide Technical Guidance: Serve as a resource for welders and other personnel, answering questions and providing solutions to complex welding challenges.
  • Hazard Management: Identifying and mitigating potential hazards in the weld shop.
  • Safety Protocols: Developing and enforcing safety protocols, ensuring the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and conducting regular safety audits.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Ensuring all welding operations and procedures comply with local, national, and industry-specific safety standards and regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure project specifications and deadlines are met.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed records
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
