Job purpose

As a Purchase Engineer, you will play a key role in sourcing, evaluating, and procuring materials, components, and equipment necessary for our mechanical engineering projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and delivery capabilities.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.
  • Review technical specifications and requirements to identify suitable materials and components for purchase.
  • Generate purchase orders, manage order placement, and track order status to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and consumption patterns to optimize stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Resolve supplier issues, disputes, and discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluations and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain quality standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements to inform procurement decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor information in the procurement system.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/ Production Engineering
  • as a Purchase Engineer or in a similar procurement role within the mechanical engineering industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical components, materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering specifications.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to ₹25,000.00 per month
