It Business Analyst

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our Digital Transformation team focused on Central Government ministries. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in understanding ministry-level digital transformation requirements, conducting business process analysis, and bridging the gap between policy teams and technical stakeholders. This role demands strong stakeholder management, analytical skills, and hands-on experience in large-scale IT or e-governance projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Engagement & Requirement Gathering

• Collaborate with ministry officials and end-users to understand business processes, challenges, and transformation goals.
• Conduct requirement elicitation through interviews, workshops, surveys, and field visits when necessary.
• Translate stakeholder inputs into clear, actionable functional and non-functional requirements.

Business Process Mapping & Gap Analysis

• Document AS-IS and TO-BE business workflows using standard modeling tools (e.g., BPMN).
• Identify gaps between existing systems and future digital solutions, recommending process improvements.
• Highlight pain points and inefficiencies, proposing reengineering strategies aligned with digital transformation objectives.

Documentation & Solution Design Support

• Prepare and maintain key project documents including Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS), Software Requirement Specifications (SRS), Use Cases, and User Stories.
• Support the drafting of Concept Notes, Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and Technical Evaluation Criteria.
• Assist Solution Architects and technical teams in aligning business requirements with system capabilities.

Project Coordination & User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support

• Serve as a liaison among stakeholders, development teams, and QA to ensure smooth project execution.
• Participate in UAT planning, review test cases, and facilitate issue resolution.
• Monitor project deliverables, track risks, and support mitigation strategies.

Digital Transformation Strategy & Policy Alignment

• Ensure solutions adhere to national digital governance policies, Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) standards, and frameworks.
• Promote the adoption of Digital Public Goods such as Aadhaar, DigiLocker, UPI, ONDC, wherever applicable.
• Advocate for usability, inclusivity, and accessibility of digital services from a citizen-centric perspective.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech), MCA, or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in IT or e-governance projects.
• Proven track record in government consulting or large-scale IT project documentation and business process analysis.

Desirable:

• MBA/PGDM in IT Systems, Public Policy, Operations, or related disciplines.
• Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA), Agile methodologies (e.g., CSM), or Digital Transformation.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to engage with diverse user groups and senior officials.
• Expertise in business process modeling and gap analysis (proficient with BPMN and tools like MS Visio, ).
• Proficiency in project documentation tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Waterfall methodologies.
• Familiarity with India Stack components and digital public infrastructure is highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of data privacy, security policies, and accessibility standards in digital services.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
