Reefer Technician

Position Title: Reefer Middle Level Technician

Location: Uran, Navi Mumbai – Yard

Job Type: Full-time, On-site

Experience: 1–3 years preferred

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Reefer Technician – Middle Level to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the routine and corrective maintenance of refrigerated containers, troubleshooting refrigeration and electrical systems, and ensuring the operational readiness of reefer units. This role plays a critical part in maintaining cold chain integrity and ensuring the timely transportation of temperature-sensitive goods.

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on reefer containers.
• Troubleshoot electrical and refrigeration issues (Carrier, Thermo King, Daikin, etc.).
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of containers.
• Maintain service records and report any faults.
• Support junior technicians and collaborate with operations/logistics to ensure reefer readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reefer Operations Support
  
  Assist in scheduling and executing reefer servicing to ensure units are inspected, repaired, and ready for dispatch on time. Coordinate closely with logistics to synchronize maintenance timelines with operational requirements.
• Documentation & Reporting
  
  Maintain accurate and timely records of service activities, including maintenance tasks and spare part usage. Ensure job cards, fault reports, and daily logs are updated according to company standards and submitted without delay.
• Teamwork & Communication
  
  Collaborate effectively with both senior and junior technicians to complete maintenance tasks. Maintain clear communication with logistics, warehouse, and operations teams regarding reefer status, issues identified, and progress updates. Actively contribute to team performance and cohesion.
• Compliance & Safety Support
  
  Follow safety protocols while performing maintenance tasks, using PPE appropriately and reporting any unsafe conditions. Ensure all maintenance work adheres to company SOPs and cold chain operational standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

• ITI or Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC), Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Additional certification in reefer systems (e.g., Carrier, Thermo King, Daikin) is a plus.
• 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in servicing and maintaining reefer containers or cold chain equipment.
