About the Role

We are seeking a
Senior Software Engineer (Backend)
to design and develop highly scalable, distributed backend systems that power real-time, high-volume applications. You will work on mission-critical systems, including ride booking, driver-rider matching, and event-driven architectures for real-time communication. This role is ideal for engineers passionate about building reliable, secure, and scalable backend platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize backend systems for ride booking, driver-rider matching, and real-time tracking.
  • Build and maintain scalable, distributed systems capable of handling high-concurrency workloads.
  • Develop event-driven architectures and real-time messaging for ride status updates and notifications.
  • Optimize relational databases through indexing, partitioning, sharding, and caching.
  • Collaborate with frontend, mobile, and DevOps teams to deliver seamless integrations.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments and infrastructure management.
  • Ensure security and data privacy compliance, including OAuth, JWT authentication, and GDPR.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve backend performance and scalability issues.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–8 years
    of experience in backend development with large-scale, high-performance systems.
  • Strong expertise in
    Java (Kotlin)
    and
    Spring Boot
    .
  • Experience with
    microservices architecture
    and
    RESTful APIs
    .
  • Proficiency with databases:
    PostgreSQL, MySQL
    , plus caching technologies (
    Redis, Memcached
    ).
  • Hands-on experience with
    Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform
    .
  • Cloud platform experience in
    AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB)
    ,
    Google Cloud
    , or
    Azure
    .
  • Experience with
    Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Redis Pub/Sub
    for event-driven systems.
  • Knowledge of
    WebSockets
    and real-time push notifications.
  • Implementation knowledge of
    OAuth, JWT
    , and encryption standards.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as
    Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD
    .
  • Monitoring and observability experience with
    Datadog (preferred)
    ,
    Prometheus
    , or
    Grafana
    .

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in
    ride-hailing, mobility, logistics, or e-commerce platforms
    .
  • Knowledge of
    geo-spatial databases
    for route optimization and real-time location tracking.
  • Exposure to
    AI/ML
    for demand forecasting and allocation algorithms.
  • Experience designing scalable
    search platforms (Elasticsearch, OpenSearch)
    .
