We're hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to lead the development of a high-performance, AI-driven backend platform that empowers eCommerce brands to grow faster through intelligent decision-making. You'll be responsible for building robust, scalable APIs and data pipelines while integrating AI agents that analyze real-time and historical sales data to boost conversions, improve campaigns, and grow revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines for handling large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
  • Develop high-performance services using Java (Spring Boot) and Rust for mission-critical components.
  • Integrate AI/ML models and agents into backend workflows to support intelligent decision-making.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers, data scientists, and product managers to deliver seamless platform features.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of backend systems.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to best practices in coding, architecture, and DevOps.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend development experience, with a strong focus on building scalable and high-performance systems.
  • Expertise in Java (Spring Boot) and Rust.
  • Hands-on experience in designing RESTful APIs and working with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Good knowledge of system design, performance optimization, and scalability best practices.
  • Familiarity with Python (good to have) for scripting, data processing, or AI model integration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice To Have

  • Exposure to AI/ML systems, recommendation engines, or personalization platforms.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture, message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
