Western Union powers your pursuit
We are looking for a highly skilled UAT Lead with strong expertise in remittance and digital payments systems to lead end-to-end user acceptance testing for critical payment products and integrations. The role involves defining UAT strategy, managing execution across multiple stakeholders, ensuring quality validation of business requirements, and providing sign-off for production readiness.
Role Responsibilities
1. UAT Strategy & Planning
- Define overall UAT approach, scope, and strategy for payment and remittance projects (domestic and cross-border).
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and define acceptance criteria.
- Develop UAT plans, timelines, and resource allocations aligned with project delivery milestones.
- Identify and prioritize critical business scenarios — funds transfer, FX conversion, settlements, reconciliation, AML/KYC validations, etc.
2. Test Design & Preparation
- Review BRDs, FSDs, and solution documents to ensure test coverage.
- Design high-quality test cases, scripts, and scenarios across payment channels (SWIFT, RTGS, NEFT, IMPS, UPI, wallets, etc.).
- Ensure realistic test data preparation for payment corridors, currency pairs, customer types, and regulatory limits.
- Establish traceability between business requirements and UAT test cases.
3. UAT Execution & Management
- Coordinate UAT execution cycles, assigning tasks to UAT testers and tracking daily progress.
- Monitor test execution for various payment flows — initiation, processing, settlement, and reconciliation.
- Validate message formats and APIs (SWIFT MT/MX, ISO 20022, JSON/XML APIs).
- Manage defect lifecycle — logging, triage, retesting, and closure.
- Drive defect review meetings with development, QA, and business teams.
4. Stakeholder & Delivery Management
- Act as the primary liaison between business users, product owners, and technical teams during UAT.
- Present test progress, defect metrics, and risk reports to project leadership.
- Ensure timely UAT completion and formal business sign-off for release.
- Coordinate with external partners (correspondent banks, PSPs, FX providers, compliance vendors) for integrated UAT validation.
5. Governance & Compliance
- Ensure UAT processes align with regulatory, compliance, and audit standards (RBI, AML, FATF, GDPR, etc.).
- Maintain detailed UAT documentation — plans, cases, defect logs, sign-offs — for audit readiness.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of UAT frameworks, automation, and best practices.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong domain knowledge in Remittance & Payments (Domestic and Cross-Border).
- Hands-on understanding of SWIFT, ISO 20022, RTGS, NEFT, IMPS, UPI, Wallets, and FX systems.
- Familiarity with core banking systems, payment gateways, AML/KYC modules, and reconciliation systems.
- Proficiency in test management tools like JIRA, Zephyr, HP ALM, and API tools (Postman, Swagger).
- Experience leading UAT teams and managing multiple stakeholders in matrix environments.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into test outcomes.
- Exposure to agile/scrum delivery models and continuous integration setups.
Role Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in QA/UAT, with 3+ years in a UAT Lead or Coordinator role.
- Domain experience in Payments, Remittance, or Fintech is mandatory.
- ISTQB / CSTE / PMP / Agile certification is an added advantage.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cross-border remittance platforms (Ripple, SWIFT GPI, MoneyGram, Remitly, etc.).
- Familiarity with API-based payment ecosystems, digital KYC, and compliance systems.
- Exposure to cloud-native or microservices-based payment architecture.
