1. Role Overview
The Total Station Surveyor is responsible for conducting accurate land surveys using Total Station, GPS, Auto Level, and other surveying instruments for construction and infrastructure projects. The role includes establishing control points, setting out works, capturing field data, preparing survey reports, and ensuring accuracy in alignment, levels, and coordinates for road, highway, structural, and earthwork activities.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Surveying & Setting Out
- Operate Total Station, GPS, DGPS, Auto Level, and related instruments for all surveying tasks.
- Establish horizontal and vertical control points and verify benchmarks.
- Set out alignment, centerline, formation levels, structures, curves, culverts, and other project components.
- Provide accurate layout for excavation, earthwork, pavement layers, drainage works, and structures.
B. Data Collection & Measurements
- Conduct topographic surveys, cross-sections, L-sections, and as-built surveys.
- Measure site levels, quantities, and coordinates for engineering and construction activities.
- Record all field data with precision and transfer to engineering teams.
C. Documentation & Drawings
- Prepare survey sketches, reports, and as-built drawings.
- Coordinate with the engineering/design team to verify survey outputs with approved drawings.
- Maintain logs of survey data, instrument records, and calibration details.
D. Quality Assurance & Accuracy Control
- Ensure accuracy of surveying works to meet project and technical requirements.
- Check and verify subcontractor survey work, if applicable.
- Calibrate and maintain survey instruments periodically.
E. Site Coordination
- Work closely with site engineers, construction teams, and subcontractors.
- Provide accurate and timely survey information to facilitate uninterrupted construction progress.
- Attend technical meetings related to alignment, levels, and measurements.
F. Safety & Compliance
- Follow safety guidelines while working on active construction sites.
- Ensure surveys are conducted in compliance with project specifications, codes, and quality standards.
3. Qualifications & ExperienceEducation
- Diploma in Civil Engineering / ITI Surveyor certification (preferred).
- Formal training in surveying and equipment handling.
Experience
- 3–10 years of experience as a Total Station Surveyor in road/highway, building, or infrastructure projects.
- Hands-on experience with brands such as Leica, Sokkia, Trimble, or Topcon Total Stations.
Skills
- Proficiency in Total Station, GPS, Auto Level, and other surveying equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Knowledge of surveying software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, LISCAD, or similar) is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and measurement skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹25, ₹30,000.00 per month
