Summary

As a Staff Technical Product Manager (Product Owner) for Portrait Platform Team, you are responsible for operating in lock-step with product management to create a clear strategic direction for build needs for products in your team's portfolio. You will work with the scrum team(s) and deliver a clear and descriptive set of requirements to enable the delivery of a product's features and functionality. Your priority is seamless integration and alignment of perspectives from a broad set of stakeholders: Product Managers, Technical Anchors, Service Owners, and Developers.

Responsibilities:
  • This role will work closely with the scrum teams and deliver a clear and descriptive set of requirements to enable the delivery of products features and functionality.
  • Responsible for maximizing the value delivered by the team and ensuring that the Team Backlog is aligned with customer and stakeholder needs.
  • Work closely with the PMO (Program Management Office) to communicate feature estimation and support in ensuring product delivery within program timelines.
  • Work with Internal or External Customers, Product teams, Product Management, System Architects, and fellow POs to identify the product requirements/EPICs/Features/User Stories.
  • Ensure that the user stories are well-formed and aligned with platform strategy.
  • Along with clarification on the story details, scope, definition of done, acceptance criteria, and assist with story splitting, define enablers and incorporate behavior-driven design (BDD) to ensure stories support continuous value flow.
  • Drive the prioritization of the backlog items in such a way that highest value backlog items are delivered in the shortest sustainable lead time and in the right sequence by working with the product management and PMO office.
  • Enable the regular ordering of backlog items according to their cost of delay and communicating that sequence to the team during backlog refinement and Iteration Planning.
  • Assure that the quality is built in by validating that the story meets acceptance criteria, that it has the appropriate, persistent acceptance tests, and that it otherwise complies with its Definition of Done (DoD).
  • Support the architectural runway by collaborating with System Architects to craft enablers and work with stakeholders to establish appropriate capacity allocations.
  • Balance the stakeholder perspectives by understanding the changing user needs, drive customer-centricity, respecting capacity allocations, evaluating the cost of delay, and collaborating with stakeholders and teams to make implementation decisions that produce the most favorable outcomes.
  • Regularly evaluate the progress toward story acceptance criteria, including compliance with Built-In-Quality criteria, such as the scalable definition of done, and non-functional requirements (NFRs).
  • Work closely with the team to detect quality issues as they are introduced and correct them in or near real time. Take a prioritization call on the tech debts and defects by working with the team leads and architects.
  • As a member of the Agile team, attend and actively participate in team events during PI execution.
  • During PI grooming, PI Planning, iteration planning, backlog refinement, iteration reviews, team retrospectives, and team syncs, provide crucial feedback on the teams work from an outside-in, customer-centric point of view.
  • Translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units.
  • Work with the scrum teams and accept stories based on the acceptance criteria and ensure the story/work deliverables are completed with the required DOD, acceptance criteria, and quality.
  • Apply Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) for functional scenarios.
  • Proficient in agile methodology (scrum and SAFe).
  • Possess an understanding of the technology stack and impact on the final product.
  • Support scrum masters and tech leads in preparation for Release(PI) Planning event.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with Architects and technical leadership with confidence and clarity.
Minimum Educational Qualifications and Relevant Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related computer field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in software engineering and application design and development process with at least 3 years as Product Owner.
Technical Qualifications:
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of cloud deployment on either of AWS/GCP/Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud Native Architecture.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker.
  • Good knowledge of DevOps, databases fundamentals.
  • Enterprise Development experience in the Healthcare IT domain with strong experience in demonstrating strategic level skills in problem decomposition and the ability to navigate through ambiguity.
Desired Characteristics:
  • Prior experience in Healthcare/Patient monitoring will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrate superior persuasion and influencing skills that ensure alignment between customer, product manager, and engineering teams.
  • Demonstrate excelling business acumen, updated on the latest industry trends and is looked at as an internal expert on the product as well as the associated competitive landscape.
  • Possess a deep understanding of the technology stack and impact on the final product.
