Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Design Engineer to design, 2D draft, build to assembly and optimise for industrial operations. This role offers the chance to work on diverse projects in a dynamic environment, ensuring high-quality production while meeting project deadlines. You will be responsible for handling procurement, Bill of Materials (BOM) management, machine tools, and interpreting assembly drawings for efficient manufacturing and assembly.

Role & responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise production processes to ensure timely delivery and quality.
  • Manage procurement of materials, tools, and equipment required for production.
  • Interpret and analyze assembly drawings to guide the manufacturing and assembly teams.
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for production projects.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot machine tools used in the manufacturing process.
  • Oversee the assembly process, ensuring alignment with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to address production challenges.

Required Skills:

  • Strong SolidWorks or CAD design skills combined with 2D drafting for sheet metal bending
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical and assembly drawings.
  • Experience in creating and managing BOMs.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of industrial production standards and quality control practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to liaise across departments.
