Responsibilities

Build, enhance, and maintain scalable healthcare applications using Ruby on Rails.

Design robust backend architectures ensuring compliance with healthcare standards (HIPAA, HL7, FHIR).

Create and integrate RESTful APIs for interoperability with third-party healthcare systems.

Optimize PostgreSQL/MySQL databases for performance, security, and scalability.

Establish coding standards, conduct peer reviews, and ensure maintainable, test-driven code.

Translate business requirements into technical solutions for patient portals, scheduling, billing, and telehealth.

Implement data encryption, access control, and audit trails to meet healthcare regulations.

Identify bottlenecks, improve query efficiency, and scale applications for high traffic.

Develop unit, integration, and automated tests using RSpec, Capybara, or similar frameworks.

Work with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud deployment (AWS, Azure).

Guide junior developers, conduct knowledge-sharing sessions, and foster best practices.

Partner with product managers, UX designers, and healthcare domain experts to deliver patient-centric solutions.

Qualifications we seek in you

Minimum Qualifications

hands-on developmentwith Ruby on Rails in production environments.

Proven track record of leading projects, mentoring junior developers, and making architectural decisions.

Experience in scaling applicationsto handle large user bases and complex workflows.

Advanced proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails: deep understanding of framework internals, performance tuning, and scalability.

Understanding of PostgreSQL/MySQL optimization, schema design, indexing, queryperformance.

Front-end integration with solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (React, , Angular).

API design: RESTful and GraphQLservices, secure authentication (OAuth, JWT).

advanced use of RSpec, Capybara, Minitest, and CI/CD pipelines.

Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and deployment automation.

Architecture & Design Patterns on microservices, monolith-to-service migration, domain-driven design.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

Prior experience in the healthcare technology (HealthTech) industry is a must. A deep understanding of the healthcare domain, including knowledge of EHR/EMR systems, patient data security, and HIPAA regulations is critical.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience leading quality initiatives across multiple product lines or in a portfolio-based company.

Familiarity with interoperability standards like HL7 and FHIR.
