Role Summary

Sourcing & Procurement for new product development

Key Responsibilities
  • The key responsibilities of the role are to meet the short term and long term demands as per agreed service levels, manage end to end sourcing and procurement activities for generic formulation development projects.
  • It includes strategic sourcing of vendor for Excipients and RLDs for development projects ensuring quality assurance with cost competitiveness, optimally with reduced supply risks. Knowledge on sourcing for different regulated markets (US, EU and ROW) is required.
  • Assess risk factors to ensure minimum cost exposure to Business with proper comparison of quotations and take appropriate action to ensure exposure is kept to an absolute minimum.
  • Manage negotiations for all vendors ensuring cost, quality, service targets and standards are achieved demonstrating competitive advantage to the Business as a result.
  • Arranging Purchase Orders and managing deliveries at site of materials with required quality, quantity and within the turnaround time.
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Business Unit, Plant, R&D, Quality and Regulatory teams. Strong collaborations needed with project Management, Planning, Legal and IP teams.
  • Manage all the product development team meetings held from time to time. 
  • Work closely within the supply chain and finance teams to ensure that the financial impact of any sourcing activity is captured. Ensure Purchasing data is robust, relevant and communicated internally in a timely manner.
  • Working experience with SAP platform on materials management module, MS office.
  • Ensure tracking & follow up is strong by keeping the track record of day today sourcing and procurement activities in the system data base.
  • Preparation of MIS reports & its presentation on monthly/quarterly basis. Manage all the product development team meetings held from time to time.
  • Flexible to take on the role change for sourcing & procurement of API and Packing materials including Pen Devices. 
Qualification & Experience

Qualification: BSc / B Pharma / MSc / M Pharma / MBA
Experience: 7 to 10 years
