JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Imperative Logistics is seeking a forward-thinking AI Solutions Manager to lead the exploration and implementation of AI and machine learning solutions across our organization including operations and customer experience. This role will act as a key translator between business challenges and AI-driven innovation, ensuring initiatives are aligned with strategic goals and organizational needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Identify and assess Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning use cases across logistics operations (routing, forecasting, inventory, customer service, predictive demand, route optimization, intelligent dispatch, LLM-driven customer support, etc.).
- Collaborate with business owners and IT to identify use cases – defining success metrics, testing, and implementation criteria – to scope projects.
- Manage pilots, measure results, and scale successful initiatives.
- Work with third-party vendors, data scientists, or internal developers to build and deploy solutions.
- Build and oversee a cross-functional portfolio of AI initiatives, ensuring operational value and ROI.
- Maintain awareness of industry AI trends, tools, and emerging technologies relevant to logistics.
- Communicate business value and implementation plans to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Serve as a project manager and internal consultant on AI-related efforts.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- 5–10 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning project delivery or digital transformation.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. Master's preferred.
- Six Sigma or Lean Certification is preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain, or transportation operations.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and tools (e.g., NLP, optimization, computer vision).
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing vendors or technical staff.
- Strong analytical, communication, collaborative and facilitating skills.
COMPENSATION
$130-160k, annually. We consider a variety of factors in determining base compensation including but not limited to, experience, education, certifications, internal equity, market data and geography.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The position is in an indoor, office environment, requires the ability to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors verbally and in writing, sit for periods of time, operate typical office equipment which requires seeing and the use of a keyboard.
