Job Description – Senior Accountant
Position Title: Senior Accountant
Department: Accounts & Finance
Reporting to: Managing Partner / General Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate books of accounts (Ledger, Cash, Bank, Debtors, Creditors).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Ensure timely closure of accounts and reconcile bank statements.
- Monitor budgets and actuals, analyze variances, and provide reports to management.
- Taxation & Compliance
- Handle GST, TDS, Income Tax filings, and statutory returns.
- Ensure compliance with LLP/Company Act requirements, audits, and ROC filings.
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Costing & Control
- Implement cost accounting for spawn, mushroom bags, and mushroom production.
- Track production costs, overheads, and suggest cost optimization.
- Maintain asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Manage vendor payments, supplier reconciliations, and credit control.
- Oversee customer invoicing, collections, and outstanding follow-ups.
- Monitor cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
- Payroll & HR Support
- Process monthly salaries, ESI, and other statutory compliances.
- Maintain employee financial records, advances, and settlements.
- Internal Controls & MIS
- Develop and monitor internal financial controls.
- Generate MIS reports for management on sales, expenses, profitability, etc.
- Maintain proper documentation of bills, vouchers, contracts, and agreements.
- File & Document Management
- Ensure systematic filing (digital & physical) of all financial records.
- Maintain audit-ready files for invoices, tax returns, statutory compliances, and contracts.
- Implement proper document numbering and archiving systems.
- Ensure easy retrieval of historical records for reference and audit purposes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA (Inter) / CMA preferred.
- Experience: 7–10 years in accounting, preferably in manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of Tally ERP / Zoho Books / SAP (any ERP system)/Vyapar.
- Thorough knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and compliance laws.
- Excellent file/document management skills with high attention to detail.
- Good communication & leadership ability to guide junior accounts staff.
