Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and innovative Design Engineer / Sr. Design Engineer - NPD/SPM Design with a solid background in Special Purpose Machine (SPM) design, product development, and material handling equipment. The ideal candidate should be able to conceptualize, design, and develop custom-engineered solutions, considering cost-effectiveness, performance, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand project and customer requirements and develop creative and feasible machine design concepts.
  • Develop detailed 3D models and engineering drawings for SPMs and material handling equipment.
  • Ensure designs meet performance, durability, cost, and manufacturability benchmarks.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide technical solutions to resolve product performance issues.
  • Apply knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and industrial design standards (ANSI, JIS, DIN).
  • Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and clients throughout the design and development lifecycle.
  • Provide support for tooling, fixtures, and jigs as applicable to machine design.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in design practices and standardization.
  • Understand and incorporate hydraulic and pneumatic systems into machine designs.
  • Participate in assembly trials, testing, and troubleshooting for developed equipment.

Desired Skill Set:

  • Strong knowledge in engineering mechanics, strength of materials, and theory of machines.

  • Minimum 3 years of core experience in SPM design/NPD, including:

  • Design calculations

  • Hands-on experience with SolidWorks/Creo/Inventor.

  • Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Exposure to hydraulic and pneumatic systems and integration in mechanical design.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, design optimization, and stack-up analysis.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel for on-site support and overseas assignments.
  • Basic understanding of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
