Role Overview:
The Product Development & Agronomy Officer – Seeds will be responsible for planning and executing on-farm seed trials, engaging with farmers and R&D partners, and supporting the evaluation and positioning of new seed varieties. The role is essential to introducing high-performing, adaptable seed products to diverse agro-climatic zones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute multi-location seed trials across targeted regions and crops.
  • Maintain scientific protocols for trial design, crop observations, and yield evaluations.
  • Coordinate with farmers, field staff, and institutional partners for timely trial execution.
  • Conduct crop demonstrations and field days to showcase varietal performance.
  • Compile trial data and performance summaries to support varietal selection and product launch.
  • Provide technical training and support to internal teams and channel partners.
  • Gather insights on farmer preferences, competitor seed products, and regional agronomic trends.
  • Support the preparation of technical documents, crop guides, and field manuals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Agriculture or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in seed trials, product development.
  • Hands-on experience with field-level execution and farmer engagement.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of crop agronomy and seed performance metrics.
  • Ability to manage field activities, trials, and data collection independently.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, especially with farmers and rural stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Willingness to travel extensively across field locations.
