Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. The selected candidate will be responsible for executing day-to-day tasks related to their designated job title. This includes collaborating with team members, managing assigned responsibilities, delivering projects on time, and ensuring exceptional performance in line with organizational goals. The role requires active participation in strategies aimed at improving overall operational efficiency and service

The Role

We are seeking a results-oriented and analytical Category Manager to manage the end-to-end buying process for our Branded Staples category (rice, pulses, flours, edible oils, spices, etc.). This buy-side role is critical for ensuring product availability, optimizing inventory, and building strong vendor relationships to achieve category targets.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Management:

Lead vendor onboarding, negotiation of terms, and assortment planning.

Manage supplier relationships to ensure high fill rates and on-time delivery.

Collaborate with brands on joint business plans and promotional activities.

PO Management:

Ensure timely creation and release of Purchase Orders (POs).

Conduct rigorous follow-ups with vendors to guarantee on-time inbound material flow.

Data Analysis & Inventory Planning:

Monitor product availability and performance across our fulfillment network (Dark Stores and DCs).

Analyze sales data, market trends, and consumer behavior to drive informed assortment and pricing decisions.

Collaborate with the supply chain team on demand forecasting and inventory optimization to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.

Business Growth: Drive top-line sales and bottom-line profitability for the entire category.

  • Knowledge of the e-commerce or retail industry is a plus
