Job Discription for Sr.Accountant for Pharma machinery manufacturing Job Description – Senior Accountant (Pharma Machinery Manufacturing) Position: Senior Accountant Department: Finance & Accounts Industry: Pharma Machinery Manufacturing Location: Changodar, Ahmedabad Position Overview The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, statutory compliances, cost accounting, and supporting audits. The role requires experience in manufacturing finance, especially in pharma machinery, capital equipment, or engineering industries, with strong knowledge of GST, TDS, costing, and inventory accounting. Key Responsibilities 1. Accounting & Financial Management Manage the entire accounting cycle: AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation, and journal entries. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow). Ensure accurate posting of sales, purchases, job work, and manufacturing transactions. Monitor cash flow, fund flow, and support treasury functions. 2.Taxation & Compliance Manage GST compliance, including returns (GSTR-1, 3B), reconciliation, and e-invoicing. Handle TDS, advance tax, and coordinate with external consultants. Ensure compliance with statutory norms, including Companies Act and audit requirements. Support preparation of schedules for statutory audit, internal audit, and tax audit. 4. Accounts Payable & Receivable Monitor vendor payments, credit notes, debit notes, and purchase reconciliations. Oversee customer invoicing, collections, and follow-up for outstanding payments. Reconcile vendor and customer ledgers periodically. 5. ERP & Documentation Work extensively on ERP systems (SAP / Tally Prime / Oracle / any manufacturing ERP). Maintain accurate documentation for audit trails, purchase orders, and job work. Improve accounting processes and controls for better efficiency. Skills & Qualifications Educational Qualification B.Com / M.Com / MBA in Finance / CA Inter preferred. Required Experience 5–10+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing company. Must have experience in pharma machinery, engineering machinery, or capital equipment manufacturing (preferred). Technical Skills Strong proficiency in Tally Prime / SAP / ERP. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot, MIS). Strong understanding of manufacturing costing, GST, TDS, and financial reporting. Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams. Organizational and time-management skills. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Timely financial closing and reporting. Accuracy of cost sheets and costing analysis. Reduction in outstanding receivables. Compliance accuracy (GST/TDS/no penalties). Audit readiness and low audit observations
