Key responsibilities

  • Process Development & Optimization: Design, scale-up, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality.
  • Quality Assurance & Control: Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, procedures, and systems. Conduct quality checks, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all production processes and products comply with pharmaceutical industry regulations like Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and those from bodies such as the FDA and EMA.
  • Troubleshooting & Corrective Actions: Investigate production and quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.
  • Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all processes, deviations, changes, and results for regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other professionals, including production staff, pharmacists, chemists, and quality assurance teams, to ensure safe and effective product development and manufacturing.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze production data to identify trends, variability, and opportunities for improvement. Use tools like Lean or Six Sigma to eliminate waste and enhance output.
  • Equipment & Technology: Assist in the selection and integration of new equipment and technologies to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Strong technical knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Expertise in quality management systems and GMP compliance.
  • Experience with commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV) processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of regulatory environments.
