Role & responsibilities

Data Analysis & Development

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize SAS programs (Base SAS, SAS SQL) for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Write complex SQL queries to handle large datasets from multiple banking data sources.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Reporting & Visualization

  • Design and develop dashboards and reports using Tableau and Power BI for senior management and business users.
  • Translate business requirements into clear, insightful, and actionable visualizations.
  • Automate recurring MIS, regulatory, and management reports.

Banking & Analytics Support

  • Work with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Compliance, Operations, and Business teams.
  • Support analytics use cases such as portfolio analysis, performance monitoring, trend analysis, and risk metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to banking data governance, controls, and compliance standards.

Stakeholder & Client Interaction

  • Collaborate with onshore/offshore teams and client stakeholders (Barclays).
  • Participate in requirement gathering, UAT support, and production deployments.
  • Prepare documentation for processes, data logic, and reports.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical Skills (Mandatory)

  • Strong hands-on experience with SAS (Base SAS, SAS SQL).
  • Advanced SQL skills (joins, subqueries, performance tuning).
  • Experience with Tableau for dashboard and report development.
  • Experience with Power BI including DAX and data modeling.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, ETL concepts, and data warehousing basics.

Domain Experience (Mandatory)

  • Proven experience in Banking / Financial Services.
  • Exposure to banking domains such as Risk, Finance, Compliance, Treasury, Cards, Loans, or Retail/Corporate Banking.
  • Understanding of banking KPIs, metrics, and regulatory reporting is a strong plus.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to explain data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
