Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect Data Engineering with deep expertise in Snowflake, SQL Server, and modern data architecture principles such as Medallion Architecture and Data Mesh. The ideal candidate will lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions across multiple sources, enabling enterprise-wide data-driven decision-making. Insurance domain experience is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and oversee the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of data pipelines using Snowflake and SQL Server.
  • Implement and optimize Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) for structured and semi-structured data.
  • Drive the adoption of Data Mesh principles to decentralize data ownership and promote domain-oriented data products.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to capture requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Ensure data governance, lineage, quality, and compliance across data platforms.
  • Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Provide architectural guidance, conduct technical reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Stay current with emerging data technologies and recommend adoption for strategic advantage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering with at least 4+ years in an architectural/technical leadership role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake (data ingestion, transformation, performance tuning, and optimization).
  • Proficiency in SQL Server and T-SQL for complex queries and operations.
  • Deep understanding of Medallion Architecture and real-world implementation.
  • Experience with Data Mesh concepts in a distributed data environment.
  • Familiarity with data orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt), cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Python or Scala for data processing.
  • Exposure to real-time streaming platforms (Kafka, Spark Streaming).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Insurance domain experience is highly preferred.
