Role & responsibilities

Reporting to the Resident Engineer, his job responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following:

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in ensuring that all contractual requirements are met by the Contractor including those in relation to quality of the works, safety and environmental protection.
  • Assist in verification of Contractors setting out survey of the works in relation to original points, lines and levels of reference specified in the Contract.
  • Standing supervision of all assigned construction activities to ensure maintenance of quality control and that work carried out is in strict compliance with specifications and as per approved drawings, and provide recommendations for acceptance of satisfactorily completed works.
  • Monitor and ensure that approved quality assurance system, safety plan and environmental monitoring system are in place and adhered to by the Contractor.
  • Assist the Resident Engineer in keeping and maintaining all site records including test reports.
  • Assist in monitoring daily work progress and maintain daily site records.
  • Assist in witnessing of all field tests, sampling and laboratory tests to be carried out by the Contractor.
  • Carry out timely reporting of any inconsistencies in execution of the works to the Resident Engineer for appropriate corrective action to be carried out.
  • Identify and alert including providing advice on any potential problems and issues that may arise in the course of construction activities.
  • Assist in surveying and measuring work output performed by the Contractor and verification of statements submitted by the Contractor for the purpose of interim and final payment certificates.
  • Ensure all as-built information are adequately and properly recorded. Check and verify as-built drawings prepared by the Contractor.
  • Assist in preparation of operation and maintenance manuals

Preferred candidate profile

Graduate in Civil Engineering with minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering consultancy and having directly supervised construction of Water Supply and/or Sewerage facilities comprising Treatment Plants and Pumping Stations. He shall be conversant in surveys, field quality control procedures, measurements and maintaining field records.
