Responsibilities

The Head – Finance, Accounts, Audit, Governance & Controls would be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving financial strategy, overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and establishing a strong governance and control environment. This role will lead the finance function with a focus on long-term financial health, risk mitigation, regulatory adherence, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, financial expert, and ethical leader with a proven track record in managing complex financial ecosystems.

The detailed functions the person would be carrying out are mentioned below.

1.  
Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and drive the financial strategy aligned with business goals and market dynamics.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior management.
  • Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, cash flow planning, and long-range financial planning.
  • Manage investor relations, fundraising, capital allocation, and financial negotiations, where applicable

  1. Accounting & Financial Operations


•     Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with statutory and

regulatory standards (Ind AS/IFRS/GAAP).


•     Supervise end-to-end accounting operations, including payables, receivables, payroll, treasury, and fixed assets.


•     Ensure the integrity of financial systems and the accuracy of financial data through strong oversight and reconciliation processes.

  1. Audit Management


•     Design and execute internal audit programs in collaboration with internal and external auditors.


•     Ensure completion of statutory, tax, and internal audits within timelines.


•     Review audit findings, ensure effective implementation of corrective measures, and maintain an audit-ready environment.

Governance & Regulatory Compliance


•     Lead the development and enforcement of governance frameworks and ethical policies.


•       Ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., Companies Act,  Income Tax Act, GST, FEMA, etc.).


•       Oversee regulatory reporting, filings, and disclosures to government agencies, regulators, and stakeholders.

Risk Management & Internal Controls


•      Establish and maintain a robust risk management framework for financial and operational risks.


•      Design and enforce internal control systems to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure process integrity.


•      Periodically assess the risk-control matrix and business continuity plans.

6.
Leadership, People Development & Culture


• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and compliance team.


• Build a culture of accountability, transparency, performance, and ethical conduct.


• Drive cross-functional collaboration for financial integration, compliance, and strategic initiatives

Qualifications and Experience

  • CA / CPA / CMA / MBA (Finance) from a recognized institution.


•

15+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.


• Proven expertise in financial strategy, governance, audit, risk, and compliance.


• Strong knowledge of local and international accounting standards, corporate laws, and industry regulations.
