We are looking for an experienced and skilled VMC Setter cum Operator to set up, operate, and maintain Vertical Machining Centers (VMC). The role requires hands-on expertise in CNC programming, tool setting, job changeover, and ensuring production quality as per drawing and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines as per production requirements.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and CNC programs.
  • Prepare tools, fixtures, and offsets for job setup.
  • Perform setting of jobs, zero referencing, and program loading/editing.
  • Monitor machine operation and ensure first-off inspection approval before production.
  • Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish within specified tolerances.
  • Conduct in-process inspection using measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Height Gauge, CMM – if required).
  • Optimize machining parameters for better productivity and tool life.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and coordinate with engineers for improvements.
  • Ensure machine maintenance, cleanliness, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Maintain production records, tool history, and job setting sheets.
