Role & responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor the projects Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and standards for compliance.
  • Prepare and update Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Conduct inspections of construction activities including earthwork, subgrade, granular sub-base (GSB), Wet Mix Macadam (WMM), Dense Bituminous Macadam (DBM), Bituminous Concrete (BC), and other pavement layers.
  • Witness and verify field/laboratory tests for soil, aggregates, concrete, bitumen, and asphalt mixes.
  • Ensure calibration and proper use of testing equipment.
  • Maintain records of inspections, test results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC reports.
  • Coordinate with consultants/clients for approvals of materials and work.
  • Inspect and approve raw materials like aggregates, cement, steel, and bitumen.
  • Monitor batching plants, asphalt plants, and field laboratories for compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to national and international road construction standards (IRC, MORTH, ASTM, AASHTO).
  • Support safety and environmental policies in line with project requirements.
  • Liaise with site engineers, contractors, consultants, and client representatives on quality issues.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues related to QA/QC.
