Role & responsibilities

To set up CNC machines (lathes, milling, or turning centers) according to engineering drawings and production requirements, ensuring machines run efficiently, safely, and produce parts to required tolerances.

  • Set up CNC machines with appropriate tools, fixtures, and programs.
  • Interpret and understand engineering drawings, job cards, and specifications.
  • Conduct first-off inspections and verify parts meet tolerances before production runs.
  • Adjust machine offsets and tool settings as required to maintain quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve setup issues or machine malfunctions.
  • Ensure machines are running optimally and production targets are met.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all health & safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with operators, programmers, and quality inspectors to improve processes.
  • Record setup times, production data, and any deviations from standard operations.
